I have a 2006 GT with 20" AR 9.5 wheels.  It has Riken Raptor 255/35ZR20's on all four wheels.  I would like to increase the tire size in the rear to the largest that will fit.  Any help on Tire and Size?

When you say you want bigger, do you mean wider or taller?

If you want taller, more than liekly you'll have to go to a smaller wheel, I think the with 20" you're pretty maxed out for tire height (profile).

I mean wider, sorry 20's are tall enough...mustang club keeps telling me there is plenty of room to go wider.

You could probably go with a 275 35.  Maybe a 285 or 295, it depends on how much sidewall you want sticking out.

A friend of mine has a 06 also, He has 18x9.5 rims with 255/45/18 tires and was advised by several places not to go any wider on tires without upgrading driveshaft, Too much traction will result in breakage and possible rear end damage. Not sure how much truth is in that but if he was told this by several people Id Listen.

I  got 275/35/20 on 10 inch rims on my 2008 Saleen stage three and they feel great. I can lay on a ton of pedal before they lose traction
