I wanted to get some opinions. Would a BOSS 302 be a better block to start a build, or would a DART 302 block be a better starting block? Any opinions or facts would be appretiated! Grin

Both are good blocks, just a matter of choice. The boss block has siamise bores with just small steam holes. not sure about the dart block.

I agree with firehorse5_0
I use both in my business. Sometime a customer will bring his own block in, and tell me what he wants. So I give him what he wants. The Dart Blocks I have for my Chevy customers. I don't have problems with them. I'll get one that a driver may have removed the Rev. limiter chip from and scatter it, but we can always tell. The Dart Little M's are strong.

Boss 302 blocks are getting pretty rare $$$ and it would be ashame to ruin one. That being said, the Dart block or Ford's R302 block can handle more HP than the Boss block AND can be bored out to a larger diameter which will provide more cubes.

My whole thought process on this was, I wanted a block to start my project that could handle 1,000hp+, even though the engine will really only have 600 to 700hp. Just looking to make the engine as durable as possible, and I know with that much power things are still going to break. I just would rather the block not be the thing to break.

@ 9sec93  You can buy as many BOSS blocks as you want for $1700 a piece.

@ caretaker  Either block should handle well over 1000 HP.
