Good idea Steve. I'll get one added. It might take a bit, but we can use this thread in the meantime.

Thank you Greg!
That is mighty gracious of you! (I do mean that sincerely and seriously!)
So. What have you guys got out there for Cougars? Here is my stable:
1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 81,000 original miles 2 tone paint (factory) 289 2 bbl auto still on bias ply tires and hub caps
1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Black with red pin strips Black vinyl roof Black tinted windows Black leather interior (w/ headrests!) 302 4 bbl auto
This one is going to be sold in the next month or so. Just as soon as the weather dries up around here in Maine.
1968 Mercury Cougar Parts or project car: floor is rotted bad. 92,000 miles excellent running 302 2 bbl (all original) auto lots of good parts and pieces
I am going to part it out soon. Hopefully someone will buy the engine and tranny. It would be a shame to send this to the junkyard, but that WILL be it's ultimate fate.
I have some other neat cars, but they are GM or Dodge products, so I won't talk about them here.
Let's hear what YOU GUYS have!!

Broken promises, sad....very sad indeed.
Pretty cool '69 Cougar in the recent issue.......
Whew! It is looking like a ghost town around here.....

It might take more effort that we realize to make changes to this forum setup. There may be approvals, signoffs, etc. Plus this same format/software is used at a number of magazines for this company which puts a real workload on the support tech.

Trust me guys, we've asked for BIG changes and we're the small fish. Frankly all they care about is Motor Trend, Automobile, Hot Rod and the like. Every site is a cookie cutter setup and there's only a few things Greg (our web producer) can change. You wouldn't believe the hoops we're going through to get artwork (the cars at the top of the main page) to be changed, or to get rid of non-Ford advertising (like you guys want to see a GMC truck ad on here right?) but some of it takes a long time and others they simply won't change (like the advertising)...
There's so many cool things that I want to do, like chat sessions, more video, etc. but it's so hard with the way they do things. I can't even post my own video, I have to send it to Irvine, CA for "processing"...
Ugh, enough, it's pissing me off and I'll probably just get in trouble for posting this anyway...

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the open and honest reply. Hopefully you do NOT get into trouble!!
I kind of figured that was how it was, especially since I am peppered with spam e-mails about subscribing to Motor Trend, Automobile and Hot Rod magazines on a frequent basis.....as in all of the time, not to mention snail mail and the telemarketers "checking up on me to see how I am enjoying my magazines"! Problem is I do not like those magazines because they have nothing to do with what I like.
I don't expect much. I know that I am in the relative minority here by owning a Cougar. Maybe we can see more Cougars in the magazine and some articles on the 351-C engine? That would be cool!!!
Have a great weekend,
Steve

I know I'm posting to an old thread, but... Thanks for the 69 Cougar article in the June08 issue. It is so nice when you feature a Cat. I comb every issue for things I can do with my 1967 Dan Gurney Special. And I've bought MP Brakes, Power Master alternator, Pertronix, and a ton of other stuff though your ads. Thanks again! -- Ben Burnweit, San Marcos CA

Internet advertising relies a lot on "page impressions", so if the parent can say to GMAC that they got 10,000 impressions last month it's a good thing for ad revenue. But there is still something to be said for audience targeted ads. But it's a corporate site and the big wheels will get the most "lube".
If you catch flack from this post - tell 'em to read it again, because the forthright comments and the level of communication with the editor(s) are the things that made me check the "three year" box on the subscription renewal form. It's on my desk at the house waiting to go in the mail box.

I think it's a valid point - a Cougar specific thread is a good idea. I'm going to start a new post to see that we at least get some chatter from the Cougar folks.

Well, I have been chattering about Cougar stuff for a while and I added my 2 cents worth to your new thread!
Thanks,
Steve
