Does anyone have experience in shaving door handles on 67-68 mustang?  I would like to incoporate this look into our restomod, but don't know anything about the kits available.  I want to keep the same look and feel of the door strike.

Any ideas?  

I would think twice about shaving the handles. It can be a pain if the battery dies and if you have a manual release hidden somewhere your car is never truly "locked" and secured.

If you're looking to do something different I'd suggest swapping to a different type of handle. Some people use the Jaguar door handle and I just saw a '65 fastback that had the '05 Mustang handle worked into the door skin and it looked very nice.

having shaved the handles from my old merc I was worried about the manual release, that is until I put it in the trunk and my car was just as secure as it would be with door handles and key locks in the doors.

I shaved the handles on my 64 1/2 and left the key cyls i rerouted the door lock rod to the key cylinder and can open the door with a key.  

Those are both very good ideas for shaving door handles and maintaining some sort of security. Thanks for adding to the discussion!

A-1 Electric as well as many mustang parts houses sell shaved handle solonoid kits. Be sure to use a popper in the jamb as mustang doors are quite heavy. I mounted my solonoid to the bottom of the door and ran a cable to the strike. I did not want a button someone can find so I ran power from extra channels on my alarm, through relays. Now I can remotly open each door. I can let my wife in without walking around the car. I also placed a power button in the trunk by my battery. I also added power windows and a hidden door button on the inside for really clean door panels. Good luck.
