Hi i bought a b&m precision sport shifter for my t-5
and im just wondering if anybody knows why there is a threaded hole on the plate that bolts to the top of the tranny which has a brass fitting screwed into it

I've never seen anything threaded into the mounting plate before. Did you buy this new or used? Perhaps the PO (previous owner) added some sort of vent to the shifter area? Does the brass fitting accept a hose or an inverted flare line or anything?
