I am upgrading my wife's 70 Mach1 that had a FMX tranny to a Dominator Junior AOD,we also installed a Ron Morris Performance AOD conversion blockplate with a new 28oz 164 tooth flexplate which I think was the same as the one that was on the motor for the FMX. Now I would like to add a mini starter because of header clearance & hot start worries. Could I use the mini starter from summit that is for a 351C or because of the AOD conversion do I have to get a specific one and where would I get it.
Here is the one I have been looking at purchasing: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=PWM%2D9504&N=700+115&autoview=sku
Thanks

Your link goes no where, but any mini starter that fits a 289/302 will work on the 351C. The bellhousing and block plate locate the starter, so just about anything should fit. The one on our Falcon's 351C is a generic Summit unit, probably a Nippondenso. Ford PMGRs will also work. I do not like the Powermaster units - have one on the Mustang's 351C. It was a b**th to put it on the 302 and is doesn't fit much better on the 351C.
