Hi, Name is Ron, Just joined the site today and need some help. I have a pro st 62 Ranchero with drum brakes, 289 with a C4 and crager pro star wheels. I would love to convert the front to disc, but have no idea what would work. I have seen the Mustang II front suspenion from Heidts for $2,000.00 But i am trying to budget myself with time & money and with out taking the motor and whole front end off. Does anybody here know what i can use that won't be so costly and i can convert it on a weekend. Any help is much appreciated. Thanx.

Move up to later model (65-up) V8 a-arms and parts, then review the details for swapping in a set of 75-78 11" disks (known as the "Granada" swap).  Donors include Maverick, Comet, Montego, Granada.

You can use any of the 75-78 manual disk/drum master cylinders or use one of the aftermarket aluminum models (Wilwood - which is probably a Dodge item repurposed).  7/8, 15/16 or 1" bore will work  - the smaller the MC piston, the higher the line pressure but the more pedal travel required.  The single piston calipers are about 2 1/8", so you have to err on the larger piston size to reduce pedal travel and push sufficient volume to the front pistons.

I have a write up here: http://raceabilene.com/kelly/hotrod/diskbrakes.html
There's probably one on this site and a bazillion others are out on the web.
