recently my running lights and turn signal lights stopped working on my 70 coupe. my gauge lights would flicker and my headlight switch would make a ticking sound. i replaced the light switch thinking this would fix my problem, but it didn't. Any Ideas?

Kinda hard to tell.  I'd check the engine harness connector where it goes into the firewall, the harness connection on the back of the printed circuit board for the dash and start checking every ground wire, screw, etc.  My first thought would have been the headlight switch too.

While I would suspect the light switch as well, don't rule out the turn signal switch and wiring in the column. The brake/turn light signal goes through the column and you might have some sort of broken/loose wire or intermittent short in there too. 38 year old wiring in a vibrating column with a rotating shaft down the middle can cause problems!
