Now that the new GT500KR has been launched it begs question - will it become as collectible as the old one is today or in 40 years time will the new one be more desirable?

It is tough to say how fast the popularity will grow, but style and muscle are always maddly popular. Since I am in my early 30's I would have to vote for the new one....Just something about a supercharger.

I haven't driven the KR, but the regular GT500 is a nice car to drive, with tons of power. However, I've always had old cars and although many modern cars are nice, I just think driving a classic is somehow more satisfying, so I'd probably go with the '68 KR if I had a choice (lol). One of my best experiences was driving a 1969 Mach 1 428 CJ - didn't handle worth a **** but when you stomped on the throttle you really felt like you were going mach 3, never mind mach 1, plus you had to think about steering and braking - I think that owning and driving an older car also makes you a better driver, as you need to be more aware.

If I was investing in a car, the old ones are the way to go. But, I would drive mine weekly(if i could afford one) and the newer handling and performance package are more user friendly.

i dont think the value of any modern muscle car will ever top that of their originals, atleast in the long term
