i recently changed the light on my gauges to led's and i ran into a problem. When i hooked up the harness to the back of the gauges, the connection from the fuel and temp gauges on the printed circuit made contact with eachother. i put the ignition to on both gauges moved all the way to the right, i turned the key to off and fixed the connections, but now the fuel gauge stopped working(Temp gauge is not hooked up).I've replaced the guage, printed circuit, dash voltage regulator and tank sending unit and my fuel gauge still dont work! Any Ideas?

use a digital volt meter to measure the connector to the fuel tank... and the other lead to ground... 200 ohm scale... it should be some were between 10 and 90 ohms...(depending on how much fuel you have...)
you can check this at the tank... at the dash......
if you have resistance on once side... and intermitant power coming from the dash regulator... ,,,,,,,,, make sure the dash regulator has 12 volt input and ground and then an intermitant output... this is how the dash regulator works...
did you also verify that the dash lights are getting power through their fuse in the fuse box.... it goes from there to the round ceramic resister on the head light switch then to the instrument lights... the fuel and other gauges get their power through another circut as i recall....
