I personally think Mark has been open about the changes, maybe saying more than he should have. I also don't see where he has been condescending in the least. It is what it is and that's all that it is. (Sounds like Popeye) If the changes don't set well with you, then the options are easy. I still don't see where you'd go to get the classic content that this magazine strives to present.

Are you sure you are not related to Mark. Just like Mark you start off nice then turn into another name caller. I will say this for the last time, the new magazine is not what I ordered! I would not have renewed my subscription (June)if I had known of these changes. I am surprised the late model people are not up in arms as well. I guess you are the type to give up without a fight.

Well, didn't mean for anything to sound like name calling. Just noting that if it's not what you like, you call subscription services and cancel. None of us knew what the new mag would look like, so we're all starting off at the same point. I didn't care for all of it but after looking over it for a while I decided to give it a chance. The crew has changed up and they'll need some time to get it all working.
Yea, I'm related to Mark because we both have had a bunch of Fords in the driveway over the years and we like to tinker with 'em, pretty much regardless of year. Right now in my driveway you'd find 1967, 1970, 1982, 1986, 2004 and 2006 issue Fords parked around. Almost ended up with a 72 LTD this last weekend, but I resisted after looking at it. Thought I might get a spare 351C out of the deal, but it was a clapped out 400.
Giving up? No, I'm going to stick around and see if I can influence the content by offering pictures, video, tech stuff I'm doing in the garage, any misc. Ford stuff I run across, suggestions and maybe useful (har) comments on articles. Giving up would be switching my subscription to Chevy High Performance.

see I am the exact opposite. I was wondering why I had not received this months subscription to moddified mustangs yet so I looked it up on the web cause they usually show this months cover. I looked and looked for the regular site and just decided to click here only to discover that when I receive my magazine it will have classic stangs in it now to.
NOT what I subscribed to. So now in the place of possibly seeing a fox body or newer stang article I will have to wade threw classic stuff that I have no interest. dont get me wrong classic stangs are nice but not what I want to be reading. I would have gotten a subscription to a different mag if thats what I wanted.
I will give it a chance but have a strong feeling that my susbsciption will go unrenewed.

BMF, I don't know why you would have a problem finding Modified, as their old site auto forwards here. I just checked it and it does work.
Regardless, I am not sure why you did not get your July issue. I've already heard from a few subscribers on the west coast that have gotten their August issue (and I still don't have August here in the office!).
Is this a new sub, or possibly a late renewal? If so, you might be missing out on July due to the time it takes to process the sub or renewal. Please send me a PM with your full name and mailing address and I'll send a July out to you so you don't miss out on your sub collection.
I appreciate you giving us a chance and being open minded on the subject. Feel free to post again once you have your issue in hand and have had a chance to look it over.
Thanks... Mark

Mark I know you're catching a lot of heat on this but I for one am a Mustang nut outright. So hang in there bud. This will all settle down. You'll probably loose a few that don't like the format but you also may gain a few that are open minded to the industry as a whole. Some of us have both early and late model cars in the stable Jay

I will keep it short and simple. The new format sucks. Definitely will not renew.

No other way to put it. Im disapointed that M&F is gone. Had a subscription for over 12 years. Since I was 15. Not gonna shoot off my mouth and say you guys suck and Im done. Im gonna give the "new" mag a chance. Part of my love of the old mag was the family friendly style. Thats gone now. Dont get me wrong guys I love beautiful women as much as any man but not what i am looking for in my RestoMod magazine. Love mustangs and fords of all years. Most of all RestoMod classics. Love merging the classic style with the new tech. Mark and Wayne and everyboby past and present at the old M&F have my respect. Earned it with over 12 years of great work (project ED a particulaf fav) , but Im disappointed with just a couple of turns the "new" mag has taken. I know any business venture must be profitable and open to some change. Dont hold that against you personally. Just would have liked more of the family friendly old Mustang&Fords had survived the merger. But Im gonna give the new mag a chance. Just wont be renewing the subscription for my 14 year old cousin.

I agree with shipfitter. Move on. Im new to the fourms and alrady I dont enjoy it with all the Mark bashing. Bash the corprate guys. They earned it. Not Mark. I miss the old mag but the reality is, as Mark has stated over and over, that it aint coming back. And If I know Mark as well as I believe I do from reading his column over the years, he's not happy about several aspects of the merger either. Im gonna ride out my subscription till June '09 and see where it goes. I may or may not renew. Depends on how it goes. And I will be looking for a new family freindly mag without the girls in it. I dont fault Mark or Wayne or JIm for their personal decesions to stay with this new mag. I hope they have or work to geting thier financial affairs in order in case managment makes them go to far in the wrong direction. Too few classic features and too many girlie parts hanging over car parts. Pay off those credit cards and build up a huge emergency fund so you dont have to be a slave to the corprate crap machine if the stinch gets too thick for you to stomach. Truley hope you can find a happy medium and I can keep may 12 plus year subscription going.

Mark. I can understand your position being forced into a change that you would have preferred to avoid. I have not received the new magazine yet. I have recently moved and my subscription has not caught up with me yet. regardless I have met and spoken with you in the past, I have corresponded with you by email, and I have read your magazine and articles for years. I trust you. I have just put my money where my mouth is. I have renewed my subscription for 3 years based solely on the fact that I trust you. I know you will do your best to keep this magazine the best it can be. best of luck and don't let the people who always have something negative to say get you down. I have no problem with constructive criticism and I am sure neither do you but some people just like to complain. again good luck and keep fighting for us. sincerely

When I got the first mag of the merger I was a bit shocked at what had been done. I see both sides of the argument. While I feel as though more pages are taken up by cars I may not have as much interest in I still realize the importance of these cars. After all my first Mustang was a 1966 Coupe. I currently have a 1994 Cobra and the late model Mustangs from 88-present is what I am more interest in but I still like the mag for qualities I belive it has over other magazines such as how there is much more written about cars that are featured then in other mag's while they dont write as much about the cars history or the owner I feel as though this mag has always done that better. Although not as many of the cars I really want to read about will be in there now I still enjoy the magazine and the older Mustangs that are in it and the other Fords. Hopefully soon we can see some Old School VS New Edge heads up comparisons

Like others, I too was disappointed to lose M&F and my first reaction was to cancel my subscription. Having owned both a '67 and '99, it's safe to say I love Mustangs (even II's) and get my fix with Mustang Monthly . I liked that M&F always featured a broad spectrum of performance Fords be they Falcons, Cyclones or Galaxies.
So after re-reading Mark's July editorial and then reading his posts here, I am taking a wait and see attitude. If he can deliver a magazine in the spirit of Super Ford(to which I subscribed for many years), then I'll gladly stay. With Huw's column (Four Doors=Ford Fun) from the same issue, I am already encouraged.
Now bring on that Marauder mods article.
Dewayne
P.S. Would rather see the model pages used for cars, but if you're gonna have cheesecake for the boys, better get some beefcake for the girls. Don't want to be accused of discrimination.

I've been a subscriber for 2 years. I've always appreciated this magazine a little more than 5.0 and MM&FF. I gave it a chance and I don't subscribe to Mustang Monthly for the same reason, too much vintage coverage. Don't get me wrong, I do like the vintage stangs, just like I like Corvettes, but that's not what I subscribe to. I will have to weigh the 3 magazines now and decide which ones are worth subscribing to. Modified Mustangs would have been one and one of the other two, now it may change.

Mark, I like most old Fords and I like the new ones too. Ford did not stop making cars and trucks after 1972. I used to buy Super Ford so I could see a little of everything. I liked Mustang & Ford, I also liked Modified Mustangs. I hope you keep the best of both. I like the new Mag. I don't get the ink on my hands like the old one. The paper is much nicer. Please put some of Modified Mustangs cars in the featured cars, This is a merger, not a hostel takover! Good Luck, I wish you the best with the new mag. Paul

ok finally got tired of waiting for the magazine to show up and went to the book store to pick up a copy (sure mine will show up in the mail box today now, lol)and I will have to say I was kind of excited when I saw the falcon on the cover as my 1st car was a 65 falcon.
now I have only had a chance to skim the mag and here are my 1st impressions of the merger. 1st article was a sweet looking classic stang with moddular power! something I can relate to as moddular is my main area having owned a 00 gt, 99 cobra, and a 03 cobra.
ok next article classic tech, then s197, then the hottie of the month (for those complaining tell your wives to give your balls back, let me guess you dont like steak or beer either?)
anouther s197 tech, classic stang, new edge exhuast tech, fox article (my new ride is a 89 lx) then cobra kit car (who doesnt want to own one but kind of sucks to come on board with project half done)anouther s197 article and then the 64 falcon, which I loved all except for the ugly rims and the bucket seats.
but I will have to say it felt saturated with alot of classic ford advertisments (maybe just me as I am use to seeing stuff that pertains to my rides)overall was not a bad issue like I was fearing. was also worried that you all would go away from the higher quality of paper that was used on moddified mustangs mag. glad to see it stayed the same. overall I give this month a b-.
also going back I realize that when I renewed a couple of months ago it was for 2 years. hopefully things will stay close to this line so I dont have to cancel my subscription. but again, good job on this months mag.
