I am installing a new coil and distributor (ready to run electronic). I am unsure of the wiring order as it is different from stock and i cannot find the instructions for the distributor, probably easy and probably a stupid question, but I will ask anyway.
Data:
Old Coil Posts: BAT DIST
New Coil Posts: + -
Old Distributor Wire: To "DIST" Post of Old coil
New Distributor Wires: RED Black
I am thinking (please correct what is incorrect in my thinking): Original wire to "BAT" on old coil now goes to "+" on new coil. Red wire on new distributor goes to "-" on new coil. Black wire of new distributor goes to ground?
or
Original wire to "BAT" on old coil now goes to "+" on new coil. Red wire on new distributor goes to "+" on new coil. Black wire of new distributor goes to "-" on new coil? (I don't think so, but hey I am asking!)
Thanks for looking at and answering my question!

I am pretty sure that this is the answer. I will know better later on today!

Ship...
Sorry I didn't spot this post sooner...
You are correct in your second wiring schematic/post. The ready to run style distributors simply hook up red to "+" and black to "-" on the coil and you're good to ***
