i'm restoring a 1969 tbird and i've been trying to find info on it but parts are hard to come by and upgrades are hard to find. If anyone has restored a 69 tbird some tips would be greatly appreciated.

if you are going to restore it... which upgrades are you planning...
does it have the FE 428 in it or does it have the 429ci 385 seres motor..
which tranny... C6 or fmx...
you should already have single piston disc brakes on the front... you might want to go to rear disc brakes....
what other info do you need...
all kind of stuff is available for the motor... heads, manifolds , carbs,,, dizzys..
most of the interior and exterior trim can be fixed and replated or polished..
the plastic can also be rechromed... the heat molded patterns in the seats might be the only problem getting repoped..

i would think that you would look at the rear disc brakes off a 74 to 76 lincoln mark IV (4) (coupe) that should be a bolt on swap... you might have to make some custom parking brake cables up...
the front disc brakes should be fine unless you want big rotors sticking through steam roller wheels... if you turn or replace the rotors . and get some rebuilt calipers... or do them your self... taking them off.. doing a little smoothing grinding on them... then using caliper paint or ceramic coating the outside after you remove the piston, seals and rubber parts...
69 tbirds are not the usual cars for brake upgrades.. but they do use conventional ford parts... so calling one of the many brake suppliers will get you bigger binders if you want..
you might stop by your local junk yard and see if they have a hollander interchange... that will tell you which other fords used the same parts.. that way... you could look up brake upgrades for those..
