Apparently, the case is good for about 2500~3000 rounds LOL. I've broken plenty of parts but a transmission case is a new first. Can't see it all, but the shifter assy is pushed out far enough to limit it's movement. Here's my version of a "trans break":

I won the round that broke it (7.55 on a 7.50 dial, stuck in 2nd and crossed the top end on the rev limiter at 7000 ) and it drove back to the pits, even drove up on the trailer. This trans has been in service since 1993 and in full race configuration since 2003.

15 years of reliable service, that is what you get with FORD parts. I have never broken one like that, but I have broken a flywheel housing with a big block. This kind of service is why I am building a C-4 for my fairlane.

Ahh...
Nothing like a good carnage post to get the weekend started! Time for a "super case"...
You might want to think of a blanket for that thing too! ![]()
I've got a Dynamic Racing fully rollerized C4 in my '66 Mustang and I pray I never do THAT to it! LOL!
OK, we need some more broken parts posts. Share in the misery folks!

It was a busy weekend in the garage. The new trans is in and I should have it down off the jacks and tested tonight.

Must have got all the pieces back in the right place. Art Carr tweaked the converter when they had it apart and that made the car pretty happy. 60' went from 1.68s to 1.62s, picked up .7 in the middle and a full .1 or a little more at the end of the 1/8. Car was dialed at 7.50 in the heat, ran 7.36, 7.37 in Friday testing. No change in MPH, still running about 92.5. We couldn't get the picture, but the wife said there was about 1" of air under both front tires on the leave at night. If we get some really good air in here in October, we'll be flying.
Saturday we had decent weather for us, about 4500' density altitude. Car ran 7.41, 7.41, then in eliminations ran 7.39, 7.38, 7.37, 7.37 and in the final 7.373 on a 7.37 dial. Missed the tree with an .056 and lost. !@#$&! Previous round was .011 with a 7.378 on a 7.37. Oops. Runner up in Modified on a new trans is OK with me. Wife made it to the semis too, so we had a good weekend.
Still got a little drip from the front cooler port, but I have some #6 fittings and braided line on order to fix that. I'm going to take some regular #6 x 1/8-27 adapters and thread for 1/8-27 NPS, then stick 'em on the lathe and cut some o-ring grooves.
