In the latest issue, Mark asked for bleeding Ford Blue stories. Here's mine.
I have owned a Mustang since I turned 16 in 1978. My first car was a stripper 69 coupe with a 302. I kept that car until after I bought my 93 LX in 1999. My dad raised me as a "car guy" and he always favored Fords, although the occasional Mopar sat in the driveways over the years.
In 2001 I met my now wife, LuAnn. LuAnn's grandfather was the parts manager at what is now Galpin Ford in the 1930's and 40's. Her dad raced flathead-powered T's, A's and a 34 roadster on the El Mirage dry lake bed and at Saugus Drag Strip in the late 40's and early 1950's. Her first car was a 68 Mustang with a 390 and her second was a 67 GTA.
Ford guy meets Ford girl. It was a match made in heaven. Our stable is as follows: My daily driver is a 96 Bronco. Hers is a 2008 Sport Trac Adrenalin. Her toy car is a black 96 Cobra coupe. It has been "slightly modded" with 315/35R17 rear tires, exhaust, and a "bling"d out engine compartment featuring a polished Kenne Bell sitting on top of the mill. My first toy is my 93 LX convertible. Originally a triple white AOD car, it now sports a 5-speed transmission, gray 2003 seats, a Cervini's Heat Extractor hood and just about every bolt-on under the hood this side of a blower. It puts about 300hp to the rear wheels and is a blast to drive. My second toy was a christmas gift from my wonderful wife last year. With the help of one of my best friends, she located one of the premier Fox body Saleens in the country: a sub-20,000-mile 1993 finished in Bright Calypso Green. This great car has won two Gold awards this summer, including one at the MCA Grand National show in Park City, Utah. The Saleen will stay as stock as I can keep it for as long as I own it.
I think it is safe to say that my wife and I bleed Ford Blue.
Anybody else?

I bought my wife a 2007 Mustang last year, I drive an '06 Taurus daily with a 97 Heavy Duty 250 4X4-460 as my workhorse. I also have a 67 Fairlane as a toy with several late 70's F150's and F350's that no longer leave the farm. My whole family, and it is very large, drives Ford vehicles exclusively. We have one 1984 F-250 4X4 with 561,738 miles on it, and a 1993 one ton 4X4 with 320,000 miles. These are not highway miles and yes we have broken and worn out a few items. But, something must be said for 40 years of family tradition. P.S. my daily work truck is an 07 450 4X4

I own a 73 Mustang (since 1980), 86 Taurus, 93 Thunderbird, and 97 Explorer. My oldest son has a 92 Mustang. My dad has a 61 Starliner, 77 Granada, 94 Thunderbird, (2) 76 F-100 pick-ups. I did stray for a short period of time and those were 71 Cricket (Plymouth) and a 79 Honda.

Wow, that's a great group of cars you all own. Thanks for the replies so far! Glad my editorial sparked your interest enough to come to our forums and respond!
I know the economy is tough for many right now and it's just good to have a job (though I'd be lying if I didn't say the whole publishing world is in turmoil, not just magazines!), but man I just can't stop thinking about more projects. I still want a Maverick, a Fairlane, a '33/'34 Ford, a Ranchero, Torino, the new Flex, the Fusion, and of course the new Mustang too. I'll never have the means to do it, but I can dream. Unfortunately I'm not the type to sell my rides (which is why I still drive my first new car, my '90 Mustang LX 5.0 hatch). I had a friend suggest selling our recently completed FFR Roadster to fund another project, but I just can't bring myself to do it! I enjoy it too much, as I do everything I own.
Keep 'em coming guys, this could be a really entertaining thread! Tell your friends to come here and post their list!
Well, back to work! Mark

I would have more vehicles on the road, but with full coverage insurance on all four and the Fairlane and the 3/4 ton getting fuel yardage, instead of mileage, I just can't justify it. I also have a 72 L600 that would make a great toy hauler......Parked for now.

A '72 L-600, that sounds pretty neat. As for my fleet, daily driver - 2008 Ranger Sport 4 x 4, replaced my ’05 Ranger Edge which was my first brand new vehicle and got smashed on the freeway. 1986 Mustang GT (I'll never sell that car), 1989 Mustang GT (work in progress - project car), 1987 Mustang GT originally bought for Ice Racing, but I think it's too straight to be subjected to that kind of torture, though I do need to fix the roof (rotted around the sunroof drainage holes) - Might just put it back on the street or take it open tracking...
I will confess that I do own a couple of GMs at the moment - 1991 Cavalier Z24, winter beater - 240,000 miles and still ticking. 1976 Buick Estate Wagon - 69,000 original miles - time capsule.
Always wanted a Mustang, bought one as soon as I had the money (’86)

I also sold a neat 79 Ranchero. It was straight as an arrow and everything worked. It had power windows, locks and seat, AC and tilt. It also had cruise control, but I don't know if it was factory. It had a 351 windsor with GT40 heads and dual exhaust. But, it had to go to make room for the Fairlane. It was a good sleeper. fugly but fast.

Hi everyone, I'm a new member of this form , but not stranger in the Mustang hobby. I've been at it since 1972 when I bought my first Mustang, a 1973 Mach 1 coming home from tour of duty in Vietnam. I'm a long time subscriber of the Mustangs and Fords magazine and just received the November issue and I can response to Marks' article "Do you really bleed Ford blue" and the answer is YES. I too have accumulated well over 3 dozens of Mustangs in the past, but at the present time 5 Ford vehicles (all running) sits in our yard. An 05 Sport Trac 4x4, 04 EB Explorer, 73 Mach 1, 67 Mustang Convertible (Shelby/Eleanor replica), an 01 Itasca RV powered with Ford V10 and soon to acquire a Boss Shinoda GT convertible. I've been in my neighborhood since 1978, and they never ask me if I'm a Ford Guy. Keep the Mustang hobby going.

I am a true ford guy. My first vehicle was a 1970 f100 with a 429 and hurst 4 speed. then I got my 65 coupe, which I still own 22 years later. I sold my truck and bought an 86 mazda b2000 (I still consider that just a rebadged ranger) sold that for a 93 ranger later traded for a 95 ranger got married bought a 99 lincoln navigator for my wife, traded the ranger for a 1999 f150 which I have modified with a kenne bell blower etc this is my current daily driver. traded the wifes navigator and bought a 2003 navigator. this year I bought a 2005 f250 diesel to tow with I still have the 99 which is still my daily driver. I also have a 67 coupe in the process of being resurrected. I must admit that for a couple of years my wife had a chrysler minivan (before we could afford an suv.) and I did own a 95 jeep wrangler for rock crawling in utah.

Hi, Mark, In answer to your question of whether I bleed Ford blue, I'd have to say "not quite". I've been a car nut ever since I can remember, and have always liked Fords. To date, I've owned several of them. My second car, which I got when I was 19, was a 32 Ford 2-door sedan with a '48 vintage 59AB flathead in it. Wish I still had that one. I've also owned several other Fords, namely, a '68 Mustang coupe with a 302/4-speed, a '64 Falcon Sprint with a small block/4-speed, a '65 Falcon sedan with a 6-cyl/auto, a '68 Mustang Fastback with a 302/4-speed (currently undergoing restomodding), and a 2006 Mustang Premium Coupe with a V6/auto and Pony package. I've also owned, in no particular order, a '57 Chevy Bel Air convertible (which I bought for $200......be nice to have that one back, too), a '59 Corvette, '64 Chevelle Wagon with a 194 6-cyl/3 speed which I hot rodded just to mess with people's heads, a '64 El Camino with a 396/4-speed, a '64 Volvo 122S, a '77 Toyota Corolla Sport Wagon, an '81 Nissan 280ZX with a 5-speed, an '83 Nissan Maxima sedan with a 3.0L V6/auto, a '64 Nova Station Wagon with a 194/4-speed, an '83 Nissan 720 pickup with a 2.4L 4-cyl/5 speed in it, a '99 Chevy Lumina (inherited that one from father-in-law), and another '64 Nova Wagon (also currently being restomodded and am building another hopped-up six cyl to go in it). My current stable consists of the 2006 Mustang, '99 Lumina, '83 Nissan pickup, '68 Mustang fastback, and the Nova Wagon. I'm your basic equal opportunity car nut. As I said earlier, Fords are my favorite domestic brand of car, but not the only one that I will own, or have owned. I pick my cars the same way I pick my friends......for their individual characteristics, not because of where they came from or who their parents (Ford, GM, or Chryler) are.

In response to the 'bleed FORD blue' question, I have owned many Fords. My first vehicle was a '65 falcon ranchero, 2nd was a '66 ranchero w/289, next was a '66 Mercury cyclone w/289,c-4. Then I finally became a metooer. I bought a '65 mustang. I had it for awhile as my daily driver until I burned a cylinder in the poor old 200. That was when I went over to the dark side and bought a few camaros before wising up. I currently own a '64 falcon futura w/289, '66 mustang coupe w/200, '07 mustang v-6 pony package, and a '06 Dodge 3500 dually that I use to pay the bills since Ford forgot how to build a diesel truck (the 7.3 is the best diesel motor ever made). My wife drives a gmc yuk-on, but it's free so I don't complain(company vehicle). Anyway, thanks for a wonderful magazine and I really like the combination of Modified Mustangs and Mustang & Fords magazines, it seems to work out pretty well. Keep up the good work and let's keep the blue flag waving.

Its my first time to post so take it easy on me. We'll I never wanted to own any american car because of the gas and their quality. But that has change when I bought a 2004 Ford Taurus Wagon for my newest family addition. All my life I have driven Honda, Nissan and Toyota. After driving the station wagon, I was so impressed with the how comfortable the taurus was and it sure got some power too. Because of that, I'm considering to by my next vehicle a Ford. I'm even thinking of modifying the wagon a little bit cause I wanted to have an extra power but I just don't know where to start or even go to get some performance parts or some applications. Got any ideas? I sure will appreciate it..
