Mustang Shaker System (2005 & Up) Ram Air / Cold Air Package

I am contemplating buying one of these kits for my 2006 V-6 Mustang next year. I was curious if anyone on here has installed one of these kits (Classic Design Concept (CDC) makes the one that I am looking at. Are there other manufacturers?) on their 2005 and newer Mustang.

Any comments, pros and cons, power boost or appearance only, good fit, skill level, etc, etc.

Pics would be cool too.

Steve, I can't comment on direct installation, as I've never installed one, but I can tell you that George Huisman and CDC have always made top notch products. He's a perfectionist, to say the least, and George wouldn't build it unless he would put it on his own car.

I can say if it helps hp, etc. becuase I've never done more than test drive CDC Mustangs for a few days at a time. If you do go forward with it know you'll have a quality product with good instructions and great looks, just not sure of any performance or fuel economy benefits.

Mark, that is part of it. I know it is a quality product and it looks well engineered. PLUS it is a SHAKER HOOD SCOOP! I have a major problem with tape on hood scoops.....they are taped on! They are not really a hood scoop.....just a hood ornament.

Now, if you could just put in a good word to George Huisman @ CDC, maybe I could get that system at a discounted rate.....What do you think?

A mustang without a shaker is just another car. A shaker is heritage man, its like blood, a shaker is in the genealogy of any true kicking stang…a must have! The circle is not complete without one. So in true knuckle busting blood and grease Stang DIY spirit get one, install it and “let it all hang out”.  

I agree with you.

I like to hear about other people's experience with the install and not rely solely on the manufacturer's "propaganda".

The problem is that on this site, getting anyone to make a reply is like pulling teeth. I find myself talking to myself for the most part.

I think some of the issue there Steve is that if someone doesn't have any knowledge of the part in question, or can't answer the tech question, they just "click through" and move on.

This is why I try to generate post ideas from the print side (like my bleeding Ford blue editorial) to get people to come here and chime in about the magazine, essentially marrying the print and digital sides, working them together.

The print side is the same. I might get two or three emails a month for Your Turn. Unless we piss people off, they don't bother to write in I guess...
