Does anyone else have a problem with the black paint/finish coming off on the Shaker stereo? It is happening on the buttons I most frequently press and is starting to look bad. The car is in otherwise perfect condition and since I'm considering selling it, I'd like to remove this eye sore. Does anyone know if the buttons can be replaced? It's a Shaker 1000 so replacing the entire stereo would likely be too costly.

Same problem here with mine. Whatever you do - DO NOT USE a permanent marker. It will not work.
I gave in and bought a new head unit for $85 off of another forum from a guy putting in an aftermarket unit.

There are 3 Shaker 1000 CD6/MP3/AM/FM radio units for sale on eBay motors. (No, I have no affiliation to the sellers) The prices range from $75.00 to $250. They look nice and no one is bidding. Check them out.
