Can you install a regular dash in an 88 tbird that has an electronic dash in it?

are you talking about putting in an analog cluster out of a 5.0 or a turbo coupe..??

thats a really great question...

i don't have  time tonight to do it... but the plug on the back should be the same...

if there is a difference in the sensors...   some research is needed...  along with a look at various wiring diagrams....     you might want to get a subscription to eautorepair.net to examine the various wiring diagrams and cluster wiring.. perhaps they might even have diagrams of the flexible circuit on the back.. following each one would verify that they are pinned out the same...

on 83 tbirds the gas tank sending units were different between analog gas gauges and digital gauges...

compare the temp and oil pressure sensors...  i have some ford manuals stashed away.. that with several hours of work might give you some of the answer...
but i am not sure....

some of the analog gauges have amp meters.. others volt meters... that would be a huge difference in how they work...   digital dashes usually have a light... and they also require a voltage regulator that is set up for digital dashes... so with an analog unit.. it might not charge....    self energizing voltage regulators are available..   i seem to recall that with amp meters there are large wires attached to  the back of the amp meter... separate from the normal plug...

so there is some research to ***
