I have a 66 Galaxie and would like to do a disc brake conversion. Past issues of M&F say that mid 70's Tbirds, LTD, etc are a direct fit to a Galaxie. Has anyone done this swap and what exactly do I need from the donor vehicle. I know where a complete Tbird is in a salvage yard. I'd like get all I need in one stop. Any help would be appreciated.

Try this link:

You don't say whether your car is power or manual, single or dual reservoir (dual is preferred).

On some cars the pivot point of the brake brake pedal is different from manual to power. So....

I would take everything: Brake pedal & hanger assembly, master cylinder, booster, proportioning valve, hard lines, soft lines, spindles, dust shields, calipers, rotors, bearings and all mounting hardware. Your stock wheels may not fit over the new assembly, so you may have to take the stock front wheels as well.

There are lots of places to look online for parts, tech tips, kits, etc.

In short, take it all!

Good Luck,

Did you ever get your brake swap completed?
