I am trying to find out some info from a previous issue of "Mustang and Fords" about a radiator used in a Comet with a 392-W stroker engine. The article stated the core support of those cars is same as Mustangs. I am using the 392 stroker motor in a '65 Mustang and want to be sure I have adequate cooling. The article was in the Sept. 2003 issue of "Mustang and Fords" I have tried to find out the P/N of the Fluidyne radiator used but to no avail. Can anyone help? Thanks

I have asked the technical section of "Mustang and Fords" my question but as yet no one has had courtesy to answer my e-mail. Maybe the editor could answer the question I asked; if that isn't to much trouble.

I do not know what they used in that article but the part numbers for use in early mustangs are:
FHP30-64MU 64-66 Mustang 3-Row Radiator FHP30A-64MU 64-66 Mustang 3-Row Radiator AT
I don't know if that will help but I hope so.

Order the correct Fluidyne Radiator for a 1965 Mustang and it will fit your '65 Comet. As stated the opening in the core support is the same.

I am looking for a Fluidyne radiator that works with a high hp 392-w stroker motor, not run of the mill v-8. If I order a radiator for a '65 Mustang, all I will get is one for a standard run-of-mill v-8. Can you look to back issue I originally put in my question?

Retired65, Wayne gave you the answer. It is far from a "run of the mill" radiator. The Fluidyne is almost twice as thick as an OE 3-core.
I even took some time during lunch today and dug through a stack of old issues to find the story mentioned and there is no part number or anything, it just says a '65 Mustang Fluidyne radiator was installed.
I bet if you call Fluidyne and discuss your engine's power output with them they can easily confirm if their production radiator will cover that power level.
