Big block FE fuel injection kits

I was reading the story by Jim Smart about Ed Worthington installing FI on a 390 big block. I can't fine anything out about the wiring kit from Speed Pro. Can anyone tell me anything about this? I look on the internet with no luck. I would like to know more.  Thanks

Yes, I am talking about the story on web site. It was titled " Installing Electronic Fuel Injecton". http://www.mustangandfords.com/techarticles/5228_electronic_fuel_injection/index.html  The FI wiring and some parts came in a kit from, Speed Pro's Sequential Fuel injection Management Systen (SFIMS) from Federal-Mogul.
 I have my fathers 1968 Mercury Monterey 2 door fastback. It came with a 390 2 barrel pre. fuel motor. I has around 70,000 miles on it. I would like to change over to FI.
 If this company is not selling this kit anymore is someone selling a affordable kit.

I am not sure about the affoedable part, but massfloefi makes a system for FE. As Falcon67 pointed out in an earlier post....FE means Freaking Expensive. Or my favorite...Funds Exhausted. I can't help but think a fuel infected FE would be a blast to drive.

You might check with Barry Rabotnick over at Survival Motorsports.  He's pretty much the go-to FE guy.  He may not carry the items, but he would have an idea who might.

Barry is an awesome guy, no doubt, and actually used to work at Federal-Mogul, but I don't think he does much EFI.

The Mass-Flo is certainly an option, and as a card-carrying user of their system (it's on our Factory Five Replica 351W) it works as advertised and runs great, but it will set you back about two large.

Other options include the new EZ-EFI from FAST, RetroTek's carb look EFI or their port injection setup (not sure if they have an FE intake yet)...

That's the trick - you either have to use a TBI type setup or find an intake (or modify one) with injector ports and fuel rail mounts.  The TBI route is probably cheaper.  There is also Megasquirt if you'd like to roll your own.

This is what this guy from Burbank Ca., Ed Worthington did. He took an old Edelbrock Streetmaster single plane manifold, drilled out for the injectors and installed bungs and made his own FI manifold.  Edelbrock makes one for the big block fords, 390 to 428. It cost around $650.00.
  How is the brain set up? Are they set for the size of each motor? I mean I can't us a brain from a 460 and have it work on a 390?  

Any computer used will have to be "tweaked" for the application.  If you do some searching, you'll find that there is a common EEC-VI computer used in Mustang EFI applications - it can be adapted to most engines with the proper mass air calibration and injector sizes.  All the aftermarket items will require tuning - spark curves, fuel maps, etc.  Not exactly an out-of-the-box kinda deal.

Chris, it's actually the Ford EEC-IV system (you have your roman numerals swapped)

Th EEC-IV ECM that you are referring to is the mass-air, five-speed version, the A9L, and this is what Mass-Flo uses in their setups...

Just about every other system I've read up on uses their own ECM (FAST, Painless, RetroTek, etc.)

220, 221 - whatever it takes!    That's the one I was thinking about - the A9L.
