I purchased a 2 door HT and a sport coupe for $800. Both in sound shape with just a creased hood on HT. Have all the trim though the chrome pieces need to be redone. Both have rear ends but no engine or tranny.. Building a 66 289 with 65 289 heads and want to put a c4 behind it. Not a restoration as much as a restomod. No major changes to body and pretty stock interior except for front seats and aftermarket gauges. Is this a good way to go as I dont have the money for a full restoration on either car? I have a 390 I might put in the HT when done with the sport coupe.. Any thoughts on restomod ideas appreciated.. Thanks again Mark

Check with Dearborn Classics for parts. They are great to work with and love the mid-size and full-size Ford product line. They are doing a '64 Galaxie restomod right now and carry restomod type products too.
Don't be scared to talk the car up and cruise nights and to friends, you might just be able to barter some labor or your skills in exchange for engine/trans work, paint work, etc. and have a nice car for little money. Good luck with it and be sure to post up some photos!
