There's not a lot of corporate info out there since all '65 and '66 production information was destroyed to make room for '67 and later information (in the days before computer punch cars, microfiche, etc.
As a past owner of one of these cars I can tell you the VIN and DSO code do match an Anniversary Gold built car, as does the date code.
The build date, plant, and color, as well as options and body style are pretty much agreed upon by the hard core Mustang number crunchers out there. What has been contested by most is the production numbers. Some say one for each DSO, others say "less than 50" and still others say "a few hundred"...
Every once in a blue moon one pops up somewhere, with the most recent one I read about on the classic Mustang forum, which I believe they found in northern California.

There are more photos of my car in our online rides gallery: http://rides.mustangandfords.com/ride/1003815/mustangman/1966/ford/mustang/index.html

Mark, Thanks for the info. I have been dealing with a freind inside of Ford and yes there is very little information avalible from them. He did tell me in trying to get info some of the things he has heard is that there were 48 of these car made. but he cannot confirm that as fact. He has given a little more as far as dso and interior Some were with black pony interior some with parchment pony interior with center counsels. again he cannot confirm this as he cannot locate the records to back this up yet. He did suggest contacting the research department of The Henry Ford Museum as they may have some records. I'll keep you posted If I get any hard facts in writing so that the mystery of these vehicles can finally be laid to rest.

I've never heard of one with Parchment interior, but that doesn't mean they didn't build one!
If you have a copy of the original Mustang Recognition Guide (that Dobbs Publishing printed back in the '80s and was reprinted by California Mustang) there is a photo on page 64/65 of what I believe to be the Anniversary Gold package. There are two cars in the photo and the one in the foreground is definitely black deluxe interior. The one in the background could possibly be Parchment, or just black with a lot of reflection. Otherwise they are identical.
The sad fact is, since we originally published the book, these photos SHOULD be in our archives. I remember seeing the photo at one time in a file cabinet, but now can't find it (I've looked many times over the years).
Since these were prints of Ford archive photos there has to be an original print somewhere (at the Henry Ford perhaps?).
Good luck with it, and be sure to share whatever you find out. I am quite interested...
Best... Mark
