hello. I have had a problem with my car for some time. if you look at the pictures of my car you will see the rear wing I put on the trunk lid. I personally like the way it looks, kind of like the mach 1 wings but different. some people like it some don't, but that is neither here nor there.
the problem has been that now with the added weight of the wing the trunk lid would not stay open. and at MCA shows you have to have the trunk open, so for years I have propped it open with one thing or another. I recently saw a guy at a show who had installed a gas charged strut similar to a late model hatchback on his trunk. it worked well. I searched but could find no one that was making this setup.
so I went to oreillys and bought a cheap 17 dollar strut and made some brackets out of angle iron, powder coated them and installed them. I am very happy with the way it looks and works. does anyone know if anyone is making these as kits for classic mustangs?

I've seen a few people do the same thing, but AFAIK there's no kit out there. Post up some photos/details for others if you like...

well here are some pictures of my setup. it works well for me but my trunk is modified a bit. sure makes me happy not to have to worry about the lid closing on my head when I reach way in there. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2227131250101642786pnzFSm http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2986080200101642786RqPjQm
