Have a 1968 Ford Falcon with a 170 motor and a 1 bbl carb.
The problem I have is the carb is too tall. The top of the carb actually just meets the underside of the hood- which prevents me from installing an air cleaner.

I have searched the internet and I cant find a carb for this car. I need the carb to be no more than 4.5 to 5" in height.

Can someone PLEASE help me?? This car was my fathers last reatore project before he passed away and I'm trying to finish it for my mother.

carter made a carb for 250s... from 70 to 74.... it was a model RBS...   it has a weird float is what looks like the bottom of a soda can hanging off the side... but it is really really short.... i don't think its 4 inches tall

your model falcon could have a holley model 1100, a carter model YF, or a motorcraft model 1100

here is a link to a picture of an Carter RBS
you will have to copy and paste the link in a new window..

http://www.carburetor.ca/carbs/images/carbsnapshots/CarterRBS-2.jpg they did use it on various other cars also... so make sure the one you get is off a ford...

you might want to reduce the jet size a *** as the jetting will be a little large for a 170... let everybody know what you find...  and no holley jets will not fit...

many parts stores have stopped stocking carbs...   but carb rebuilders still have them...
