what to do with my 70 stang

So I was thinking about what i should do with my 70 Mustang. It was a six cylinder car with a three speed manual. I wanted to do a really updated restomod. But I have started to change my mind. So what do you think that i should do. I have a 351c that is already built and ready to go. I also have a stock 302 that just needs a intake and stuff. I have a 429 that needs to be finished.
As far as the interior and stuff go, what do you think. Should I shave the door handles, put in power windows, aftermarket guages and aftermarket seats. Or should I just put it back to stock and black primer it just so I can drive it. Then do things as i get the money.

It depends upon your financial and mechanical resources really Travis. There's many that can do their own paint and body, welding, fabrication, etc.
When you say "really updated" what's your definition? We've got a '69 coming out in the Oct issue with a modular 5.4 Shelby GT500 engine in it AND the dash! That's a lot of work, but it is "really updated" by my definition. Is your definition a small-block with a carb and power brakes? See what I'm getting at here? To answer honestly we'd need to know your resources and what you truly wish the car to be/have. You can dream, and then whittle down to what you can afford.
Personally, I like modern/modified interiors in classic Fords/Mustangs. Give me comfort, safety, and gadgets. There's something about seeing a classic Mustang stuffed full of modern brakes, wheels, and engine, and then still having the vinyl low-back seats, stock gauges, and loop carpeting that bugs me. But hey, to each their own. I build mine the way I like and you build yours the way you like, that's why we live in this country! LOL
The Clevo and the 429 might be nice for the WTF factor at a cruise night, etc, but they will both cost more to build...

Ok, You are right about really updated. This is what I was going to do. I want to put a TCI front suspension, Heidt rear suspension, Updated seats that have bolsters from Mustangs Unlimited, Power Door locks, and windows. Complete custom stereo, with sat. radio, ipod hook up and stuff. Also a updated dash would be great. I like the mod motors, but there is just something about a push rod motor that sounds great. I thought the WTF factor would be great and sound awesome. I would love to have a cam that shakes your whole body when idling. I do think that i sent out the wrong message though. I was really wanting to drive it so bad. I have never even set in the drivers seat. My real question is should i just fix it to just drive as soon as possible or just wait and do everything that i want to it and then enjoy it. As for the work I am doing everything. I just started putting the torque box in and the floor. I will also be painting it. The only thing that i don't think that i will do is upholster the seats. thanks for help mark.

I know there's a big itch to scratch with getting in it and driving it and enjoying it ASAP, but if you really have the inclination to build your "dream car" then I would do it right and built it the way you want now and wait.
What you're talking about is not major work. You can install a TCI front end in a weekend, same for the four-link rear. You're not designing your own stand alone frame or something here...
I bet with budgeting your time (and of course having the cash for the parts) you could finish the Mustang in a year or less. Then you'd have your dream ride the way you want it and wouldn't be driving it hoping to "fix it up more someday"...
Where in the south are you? Maybe we'll cross paths at an event...

You are right. I will just wait and finish it all at the same time. Money is not all their right now, but i have a lot of sheet metal work to do and i have already bought all of it. so i guess I just have to start working on it more. I do have a question. When you are buying parts were do you get yours from. The reason I ask is i ordered all my parts from Mustangs Unlimited. But the torque box I am installing wouldn't fit correctly. I went to my local parts store and they did fit properly. Is M U a good outfit. I checked all my measurements and everything was fine. I live outside Knoxville, Tn. Maybe you can come down for the Grand Rod Run in Sept. There is a lot of Chevy freaks out here but a few good Ford fellers are here.

I agree with Mark. You will be happier if you go ahead and build yoor ride the way you want it the first time. In the long run, it will never get done if you do a little here and a little there. That being said-are they ever 100% done? We are car guys/gals....we are always gonna tinker.
