I am the proud owner of a 88 mustang gt,5.0 hatch back,my problem is the gas gauge won't work. Now i have installed a new sending unit, new cluster, and it still won't work how ever it i take one wire off the sending unit they it shows full and if i work the float back and forth the guage won't move,so how would it be possiable to find out how many omhs the sending unit is so i can install aftermarket guage and new wiring any help would be great thanks..

When you swapped the cluster, did you reinstall YOUR anti-slosh module on the back of it (it's a little circuit board about two inches square). If so, it may be the whole problem and not the gauge or wiring. Same thing happened to my '90 5.0 hatch...

The stock sending unit, IIRC, is about 140 ohms full and 25 empty. You can take the sending unit out of the tank and check it with an ohm meter to get the exact numbers...

HTH...
