I am starting a 66 coupe restomod project and am thinking of converting to a mustang II front suspension. Any input would be great. What will I loose or gain in the switch? Any regrets. What is the best unit out there?

Well - why is what you have to ask yourself.  Then, if the why is worth the $2000~3000 it costs to do the conversion, then do it.  Or just do it if you wanna do it and you don't mind paying a bunch of money to have the front wheels put back in the same place and get rid of the shock towers.  As far as normal hot rod stuff, you tend to make more work for yourself IMHO with headers and such.  If you have an older small block you'll be sourcing late model oil pan and pump to fit the engine along with other stuff.  You can get good handling out of these cars with the correct modifications, so I tend to dispute the "it improves handling" argument.  There are many quality kits on the market.  I hear lots of good things about the Rod and Custom parts.  http://www.rcmotorsports.net/
For loss/gain, you'll lose a stack of dollars and some of the character of the car, you'll gain a little stiffness in the front end and the ability to stuff in a wide motor - like a mod motor, or a new cammer setup.

Maybe I should have said why I was thinking of the mod. I am not thinking of a radical engine swap so the space is not an issue, I am looking for a tight new car feel and handling. I have some damage on one shock tower so thats what led me there. Will a rebuild on the stock suspension give me what I am looking for? Driving the car in it's present state was a chore (bad pans and the shock tower). It would be great to be able to put that money into another area of the car if it can be saved.
