Is A Mustang A True Mustang Without A V8 Engine??

Emission standards are getting tougher by the minute and President Obama wants more fuel efficient cars in the street by 2016. This leaves the question, will Muscle and Supercars be around much longer. Truth be told we're not sure. This also leads to the question about the famous V8 engine. Will the V8 engine be here with us much longer?? Once again, we don't know.
But something interesting that Ford has brought about is the EcoBoost engine in which a V6 engine can have the performance of a V8 but retain the fuel efficiency of a V6. Now people that are enthusiast know that the EcoBoost engine, as much performance as it delivers, sounds no where near as good as a V8 engine. In fact many enthusiast still demand the V8 engine over a V6, regardless of how fuel efficient it is.
So my question to you is simple, is a Mustang a true Mustang without a V8 engine? Should for kill the V8 engine and replace it with an EcoBoost V6, would you still buy it as a GT? What are your thoughts?

A Mustang is a Mustang. Plenty of 64 up models with a 6 in them, all those are Mustangs. The engine makes no difference. As far as power goes, our 4.0 V6 Ranger tows a race car (car + trailer = 4800 lbs) and runs the same 1/8 mile ET (about 10.70 more or less) on the drag strip as our 5.4L F150 Super Crew. It would be a sad day when you couldn't buy a Mustang with a V8, but it'll still be a Mustang and you'll just have to sock back a V8 model before the end of the world. If the V6 "GT" was cheaper than the old V8, just use the extra *** to buy a supercharger for the car.

Once the wife retired her 07 V6 Mustang, it'll have a supercharger, and other mods, on it. Can you say sleeper..... This is my second 4.0. I can't help but think they have a bunch of horsepower potential.

Well any engine can be modified to the point where you can increase performance, horsepower, and fuel efficiency. The problem is that people are accustomed to the V8 engine instead of a suped up V6, such as the EcoBoost.

I have a 67 fastback and when I tried to install the Eleanor tips they would hit the under body of the car and would not fit into the side skirts. Can someone tell me how to correct this? Thanks.

I think you're in the wrong thread about this my friend. You might want to start a new one so that way people can see it.

Yea no problem. I mean you're in the right section but instead of replying to this thread, just create a new one by clicking "New Topic" and write away.
