I bought 69 Fastback with engine 390 Galaxy 65. I'm planning complete rebuilding. Need to know which parts shall I order - as to the Fastback or to Galaxy. Are there any differences in the size etc.? Will it fit in the car? Or do you know about any useful link? I have really no idea, thanks for the answer.

The galaxy is not a unibody car (and the mustang is) so you need to use the heads from a unibody car that have the different(tighter to fit unibody cars) exhaust manifold pattern(14 bolt heads). The exhaust manifold from an early galaxie will not fit the mustang, so you have to find a mustang or torino/Fairlane/comet manifold or use headers that are tight to the engine to clear the shock towers steering etc. Also you will need an oil pan and pickup that fits the mustang, other then that your ok I think. If you have later model(67 and later) heads they can be drilled for the 14 bolt pattern.

You should start your research over at fordfe.com  Most of the FE (390, 438, etc)  experts hangout over there.  You can find motor mounts and other items at Crites Restoration.  There is a lot to learn about this swap.
