Mustang 4.0 V6

I bought a 2007 Mustang 4.0 V6 engine and transmission. I got the engine wiring harness and computer with them. I want to install them in my 31 Ford Pickup. I'm not ECU, PCM smart. I found out I can tune out the PATS and turn off the emission controls with a SCT handheld tuner. Problem is I don't have the DCL or Diagnostic Port as it is not part of the engine harness. Can someone who understands this PCM wiring tell me how I can wire in the Diagnostic Port to the PCM? I have picked up the underhood fuse-relay box if that helps. Also there is a long round wiring  connector on the transmission harness. What does that plug into? I must be the only person using the 4.0 in a project as information and parts to do a transplant are almost none. Thanks for any help. Smile

i am going to advise that find a copy of the 2007 ford wiring diagrams.. i don't have a copy of them handy..

there are several online  sources...    alldatadiy.com      eautorepair.net    your local mechanic may have commercial versions but there are DOZENS if not hundreds of pages in a complete set for the complete car..

here are some of the engine control diagrams...

you will have to join and log in to access any other page but its free on the az site..

you are going to have many more questions...     hope you have a good printer...

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it, I have done many searches for 4.0 engine and computers. Maybe my wording on the searches needs refining.

i understand what you need as i work on fuel injected cars almost daily..

it was just late last night...  and what you are asking for is NOT EASY ..

one has to print out a bunch of wiring diagrams...  paste them together to follow each wire .

there are only a few wires in the OBD2 port that hook up to the PCM..  let me see if i can find it now that i am awake...

first.. you will need the second third and forth images on this page..

i could not find the proper diagram for the OBD2 connector..

they are the ECM pin out images..

the reason i posted the alldatadiy or eautorepair sites is they have complete and indexed info.. that does not require searching for significant amounts of time..   as will the proper ford manuals

the factory service manuals .. book 1 and 2...  the drivability manual and the wiring diagrams manual...  sorry.. if you want it in print.. its expensive..

2007Fordmustangormset

2007Fordcartruckpced

2007Fordmustangwd

or access it online via one of the consumer versions of professional auto repair web sites i listed.

this might help... but i would want to verify it first..

this is the FRONT of the connector.. not the back.
