Hello to all...
I'm new to the Forum but not new to cars.
Doing a four-cyl to V8 swap in a '90 Fox Notch and need some advice, please.

I've installed the engine and trans (331 Windsor/T-56), and for now I'm using the stock K-member. I've never had the K-member out and the car has never been in an accident. I believe the K-member is mounted straight in the chassis and my shift lever is centered in the tunnel shifter-opening, but the trans tail-shaft is about 1-1/2 inches to the right of center in the tunnel - awfully close to the tunnel sheet metal.

I have no reference because I bought the car without an engine and trans.
Anyone out there having done this mod have experience with this? I'm using OEM  convertible engine mounts and a urethane trans mount.
Thanks.

in this article on a similar swap.. they had to modify the exhaust slightly..

it does look like it will be shifted to the right....

this is twisted.. but creative... how they used various parts to mount the clutch master cylinder..

Thanks for the quick reply, waynep.
I've seen the MMFF article but the LS1/Fox article was new to me (that was interesting).
I am pretty sure that I'll need to modify my exhaust but I'm ready for that. Unfortunately, neither write up mentioned tunnel mods near the yoke.

I'm going to take a very close look at the K-member's position in the chassis. Everything I have read on doing this engine swap says the '90 4-cyl K-member will work but looking at the space between the engine and right strut tower leaves me thinking otherwise; it doesn't look like my headers will fit, either.

Thanks again for the help.
Anyone else have a recommendation?
