I need a new lift cylinder drivers side to my 02 mustang convertible;it's leaking from the top of the cylinder. Ford in Naples,Fl says Ford no longer makes them. Does anyone know where I can get the old cylinder restored? I am hesitant to buy an after market
I live in Naples,Fl
Thank you

if you pick up some  5/16 inverted flair unions... from the autoparts store or hardware store in the brass fittings department..

Dorman - Brass 5/16 Inverted Flare Union
Part # 070660BP  or 785-314

you can remove the hoses from the cylinder and hook them together so the fluid does not leak out and reduces the need to bleed the system...

some parts stores may have in dorman.. or perhaps weatherhead.. a 5/16 inverted flair plug..  those can be installed in the cylinder openings.. or the pump sides when its disconnected to remove and install the pump without spilling..

Check with the folks at Hydro-E-lectric. They are right here in Florida and have quality replacement parts for Ford convertible top systems, including the late-model Mustangs.

Check 'em out at www.hydroe.com. Just put in your year and model and scroll down the parts list to "top cylinder"...

That is who I used, very pleased with them.  You might consider replacing both sides (if one side went out, how much life is left in the other side?) and hoses too.
