Are the seat frames for a 1965 mustang the same for standard and deluxe interior?  Will a deluxe set of seat covers fit on a standard seat frame?

I am pretty sure the seat frames are the same but the foam is not. If you put a set of PONY seat covers on a standard seat foam it will not fit correctly. However you can buy new foam and wires from most of the mustang parts warehouses.

MG is correct, the seat frames are identical, it is the foam AND the listing wires that are different between the standard and Pony seats.

I did this conversion on my '66 many years ago before the repro listing wires were available (made my own with wire coat hangers).

You can find the story here:Pony Seat Conversion

Caution, it's old, so it's in B&W photography, but you'll get the idea! LOL
