Could someone with a correctly installed 1967 or 68 289 stock power steering system please tell me which hose runs closest to the exhaust manifold?  I believe it is the pressure line but am not sure.  Also, at what point along the pressure hose is it supposed to be within the hose clamp and insulator?  I have a set of concours hoses and it is quite long and I want to install it correctly.  Thanks.

it is the pressure hose and is attached to shock tower with a plastic strap. amk should have strap.

Thanks  for the reply.  At least someone answered.  There is a bracket with an insulator, not a strap.  The bracket is on the shock tower.  It holds the 2 hoses in place and away from the manifold.

It is next to impossible to find any accurate information about hose routing.  Really frustrating.  MM should do an article or series of them covering all the details of correct stock power steering set-ups.  This subject is sorely lacking.
