I have a 66 conv that leaks at the header seal. I've tried all kind of adjustments. I ordered a new header seal, it is a little different design.  Do I use adhesive when putting the seal down and then put the screws in.  the original didn't look as if it had adhesive on it.
The car has a new top(two years old).  Any help is appreciated, As it is I can only drive it when I know it isn't going to rain.

I don't believe there is adhesive.   Are you sure water is coming in between the seal and the header?   My 66 conv still has original glass and glass seal.  What I thought was a bad top seal was actually water coming from under the header trim. This trim sits on top of the glass seal.  The windshield seal had shrunk.   I took off the trim and layed a bead of clear silicone under the edge of the trim and put it back on and immediately cleaned all the excess before it dried so you cannot tell it was resealed.  Did that several years ago and never a drip since.
