with enough of the donor 92 mustang parts.. its a direct bolt in...

please pay attention to ground connections ... and oyxgen sensors... as you want this to run when you are done...

you may also need the fuel lines... and fuel tank with the high pressure intank pump...

there are differences between the 84 and 92 model..

the biggest issue might be where the PCM mounts thru the firewall...

unless you are going to go the easy route and just install the long block... with the 4 barrel carb and intake from yours... if thats what your car has out of the optional motors..

which part...

the engine harness for the fuel injection on the engine is needed ...

you may need to actually swap a lot of the body section of the harness.. or even better a conversion harness created by an aftermarket provider..

as i recall the engine harness is on a pair of quick connects.. so you will need to have the body side of the harness to hook up the computer ..

do you have a set of wiring diagrams for both cars..??? so you can plot out which wires you need and which you don't..

and do you have the complete 92 ... to remove parts from?

perhaps another forum member has more info on this swap than i do on the harness..

lets wait and find out what happens..

The 92 harness has the fuel pump relay in it, unlike the earlier Fox where it is under the driver's seat. The big issue will be taking the green/brown plugs at ECM where it sits in the RF kick panel and routing those to the proper locations. The '84, unless it was an AOD with CFI will not have any EFI hardware/fuel lines/etc.

There will be a bit of "dieting" needed to get the OE harness to work. If time is money for you and you're not strong with electrical work you might want to look into the aftermarket EFI harnesses from Ford Racing, Scott Drake, and RJM Injection. They're in the $500-$700 range, but they plug right in and have labeled wires for start/power/coil/tach/etc. and they are already "dieted" with no EGR, no canister purge, etc.

You'll also need an EFI fuel tank and lines if the car is not already CFI injection too. Any '86-'93 tank will bolt right in and you can get reproduction EFI fuel lines from Classic Tube or make your own.

HTH...
