Instrument panel spring

We found a little spring on the floor board while we were taking dash and pedals out to replace clutch. We believe it to be the instrument panel spring by looking through a parts catalog, but we have no idea where it goes. From searching online it may be a bimetallic spring that is involved with a gauge or a switch. Any help would be appreciated.

got a picture or an exact size...

there are bimetallic springs inside the instrument cluster voltage regulator.. these are captured inside the case and not likely to come out..

there is a bimetallic spring inside the headlight switch for the headlights circuit..

both of these will have some kind of contact on one end..

there may be some flat slightly curved springs in the speedometer..

take a picture of it.. next to a ruler.. so we can see the exact size..

post the images to photobucket dot com..  and the links to the images here..
