Ok -- As you may remember I have a Big tricked out 347 stroker in my car, elctronic ignition, extra election gas "pump" in the back and many other options.
The clutch is fried. It looks like they used a smalled one in the bell housing based on the holes.
Which ones should I consider? Will I need or should I consider a new fly wheel too?
Thanks!

you have a problem.

you need to buy a 10 1/2" 3 finger long 2200 lb pressure plate from mcleod and a 500 series dual friction disc. and you need at least 343 gears.

you need to reinforce the equalizer bar or it might bend under the extra load of the high perf pressure plate.

you can also get a stupid girly diaphragm set up from ford racing, with around the same rating, lol.

the cobra clutches on ebay are NOT real ford cobra clutches, they are chinese crap.

well unless your car is a 1999 - 2004 it won't fit. it is also a diaphragm clutch. your car is designed for a 3 finger clutch.

it is also an overseas clutch because if it was made in the US it would be plastered all over the ad.

is a mcleod or ford racing one not good enough?

here's some spec stage 3 clutches mfg in china.

In 1998, I built a 347 stroker, approx. 375 hp, and it would pull through a HD Ford 10.5 pressure plate if you rolled into the accelerator to the floor from 30 mph in 4 th gear. The 389 gears helped. I had a 3 fingered Hayes HD P-Plate with a hard pedal I had previously used but went to the Ford unit for comfort in the stock HiPo engine. I put the Hayes back in and the slipping stopped. It's still working fine with the new roller camshaft and approx. 400 hp now. I did have to reinforce the Zbar short arm with a triangle 1/4" steel plate, the short arm kept bending and breaking the weld. Not a problem since.
